ANITA AYSOLA
Born in India but raised in Michigan, Anita Aysola’s years of studying classical piano and sitar give her music an exotic flair. Influenced by studying Indian classical vocals and simultaneously jazz and rock, she produces a haunting sound that is truly unique. Her passion comes through her voice and piano to create raw, genuine and yet lyrical songs.
Her minor in music at the University of Michigan and years of playing in various Chicago bands such as Funkadesi, Kokapelli and Lotus really show in her solo material became available in 2008. We can only hope “More Than Maybe” is the first of many recordings from this talented singer/songwriter who now performs regularly in greater Washington DC.
Anita’s musical influences include Zero 7, Tori Amos, Norah Jones, and Fiona Apple.
