About the artists

JASON JASPER
San Francisco-based recording artist Jason Jasper is poised to move to the top of every soul purist’s playlist. But Jason Jasper won’t stop there – his versatility and universal appeal will have R&B, rock, blues, and even neo-soul enthusiasts relating to his rhythms and rhymes. And with hair-on-the-back-of-your-neck raising vocals that inspire reflection on our humanity and power to bring change, Jason may eventually carve out a new genre for his soul conscious music – He calls it “abstract soul.” His die-hard Bay Area and MySpace fans call it “What the music world has been waiting for!”
Drawing comparisons to classic vocalists such as Bill Withers, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, Jason credits his love of music to the hours he spent enjoying his father’s albums as a child. Groups such as the Stylistics, Average White Band and Parliament-Funkadelic compelled him to “mimic every line and note.” In addition to covers of well-known soul classics such as Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas” and the Stylistics’ “People Make the World Go Round,” Jason’s varied repertoire includes acoustic pieces such as “Wake Up,” a scorching plea for focus and consciousness during a time of conflict and economic uncertainty.

KEVIN SANDBLOOM
Kevin Sandbloom has been playing music ever since he picked up a guitar at 16 and simultaneously fell in love with the music of Bob Marley. He cut his teeth on influences like B.B. King, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Steely Dan, Prince and Sade. Of the creative culture he came up in he says, “The whole thing was to do like Bill Withers mixed with The Beatles or Parlamient meets Elvis Costello or Pink Floyd meets Steel Pulse so we were trying to mash it up from early on”. It was this eclectic atmosphere that shaped his musical path.
Fast forward to the present and Kevin is regarded in songwriter circles as an artist who operates at them top of his game. He has performed on stages from the Nuyorican Poets cafe in New York, to B.B. King’s Blues Club in Los Angeles and is a fixture at music and poetry venues across the U.S.
He is also a favorite on college and high school campuses. Sandbloom was recently featured on the ABC Family series “Lincoln Heights”, and has credits on the Laurence Fishburne film “Once In The Life”. He was also payed the honor of having one of his songs used by guitar legend Robben Ford on his album, “Supernatural”. It ended up being chosen as the title track.
Sandbloom is hard at work recording new material for what he hopes to be a 2008 release and has an eye on a European trip as well. “I’m looking for big things to happen this year” he says. Big things indeed but until then he keeps his focus on the mission at hand. Writing great music. “When it comes down it, that’s what it’s all about”.
