4/7: Jake Phillips & Sitali Siyolwe

Saturday, April 7th at 9:00 pm

Saturday night, April 7th will be a special night. You don’t listen to Jake and Sitali – you get transported into their worlds.

Musicians and songwriters at the top of their game, when these two long-time friends take the stage goose bumps and and chills are likely to ensue. Come early as we will likely reach capacity.

Back from touring with William Fitzsimmons, Brooklyn based singer-songwriter Jake Phillips brings a new conscience and urgency to the continuing tradition of the American troubadour. To experience Phillips’ timeless melodies, driving guitar rhythms, and rich and soulful baritone, is to understand why expectations are so high for this rising star. When he’s not performing solo, he also frequently tours with Rosi Golan.

Sitali Siyolwe started performing in Egypt at age 7. At 13, Sitali represented Zambia at the United Nations International Youth Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria. Around the same time Sitali had his first recording sessions with producer Flynn Johns (Led Zeppelin, The Eagles). After moving to America in his late teens, Sitali has recorded and performed with a variety of artists including Eva Cassidy, EU, Thievery Corporation, Roberta Flack and Jimmy Smith to name a few. Sitali is currently recording a new album.
