Saturday, December 3rd at 8 pm – 12 midnight

BloomBars is hosting a Bhangra Brown Marrow Party and Donor Drive. The purpose of the event is to register people into the National Bone Marrow Registry in hopes of finding a match for Amit Gupta, and an amazing man not yet 30 who is in urgent need of bone marrow transplant after being diagnosed with acute leukemia.
There is a 1 in 20,000 chance of finding a donor match, which would double his chances of survival. South Asians are significantly underrepresented in the Bone Marrow Registry so there is great potential for this to help others. And of course, all are welcome to attend, register and donate regardless of ancestry.
Testing is as simple as getting your mouth swabbed, and if your marrow is needed for transplant, it is as simple as donating blood.
Visit Amit’s website for more information to learn about ways you can help.
The evening will also feature music by the U.S. Department of Bhangra with Beta-G!
You can learn more about Amit in this interview he did with CNN’s Sanjay Gupta:
