PAST EVENT: Tue 6/4: BloomScreen and the Alliance Française present: Louise-Michel

Tuesday, June 4th at 7:00 pm

Louise-Michel (2008, 94 min, comedy). Absurdist French filmmakers Benoit Delepine and Gustave Kervern’s hilarious black comedy featuring recently-fired employees who conspire to ‘whack’ their boss!

LOUISE-MICHEL – is a jet black comedy in which the recently-fired female employees of a children’s clothing factory, led by ex-con Louise (Yolande Moreau), pool their funds together to put a ‘hit’ on their callous boss. But while security specialist Michel seems like the perfect candidate to carry out the hit, his ineptitude is so great that he attempts to sub-contract the job to a series of inexperienced – and highly inappropriate – assassins, with outrageous, and unexpected, results! (In French with English subtitles).

After our screening, we’ll have Q&A moderated by Marc-Antoine Percier of the Alliance Française.

Bloombars, in association with the Alliance Française of Washington DC, is proud to present monthly films which highlight the best of Francophone culture.
