Tu 09/19: BloomScreen presents: War Made Easy

Tuesday, September 19th at 7:00 pm

Join BloomBars for a documentary which examines U.S. government war propaganda and media manipulation since WWII.

War Made Easy: How Presidents & Pundits Keep Spinning Us to Death (2007, 73 min), by Loretta Alper and Jeremy Earp – this Orwellian documentary attempts to expose how, over a 50 year period, the American government has distorted facts and manipulated the media to sell the necessity of war to the American people.

With special attention to parallels between the Vietnam war and the war in Iraq, the film argues that propaganda and media complicity have dragged the United States into one war after another since World War II and a constant state of war since 9/11. (Based on the book by Norman Solomon and narrated by Sean Penn).

The screening will be followed by audience discussion and Q&A.
