PAST: FILM: 7/3: BloomScreen presents: What the Tourist Should See

Tuesday, July 3rd at 7:00 pm

What the Tourist Should See (Os Mistérios de Lisboa) (2009, 69 min), by José Fonseca e Costa – is a film on Lisbon based on Fernando Pessoa’s tourist guide written in 1925, and is a tribute to the poet.

Pessoa’s text was written in plain language and is very visual – as if he were a guide of his hometown, inviting us to travel around the moving city.

This breathtaking film is for anyone who would wish to discover Lisbon, through the eyes of the poet, or for anyone interested in Pessoa, in Portugal and its history, culture, art and literature. (This original film version is in English, in accordance with Pessoa’s guide).

Bloombars, in association with the Instituto Camoes and the Embassy of Portugal, is proud to present monthly film screenings on Lusophone culture and language. Our film will be followed by audience discussion.
