Wandering Souls Presents: Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night”

Celebrate Shakespeare!

Join BloomBars and Wandering Souls as we bring one the Bard to life  in Columbia Heights, for three Friday night performances. If you’ve never experienced a Shakespeare play live, this is your chance to get up close & personal.

Shakespeare-Twelfth-Night-bloombars-live-theaterWit, music, romance and revelry are the food of love at this comedic feast of lovers and fools. One of Shakespeare’s most famous comedies – Twelfth Night – is a play about love in all its excess.  Merry deceptions, mistaken identities and yellow stockings abound in this lilting comedy.

About Wandering Souls

Wandering Souls is dedicated to making the luxury of the arts more accessible to everyone! At the core of our mission is a belief that the arts can fuel our imagination, encourage our personal growth and help unite individuals and communities. Yet, the richness of the arts is often considered a luxury.

By bringing stripped-down, high quality, energetic performances to those who have little or no access we hope to break down that misconception. We hope to open the channels to engaging conversations, new experiences and– in the process– provide opportunities for a broader cultural exchange.

Improv Thursdays at BloomBars with Third Beat Improv

Lighten up with live comedy from 8:15 – 9:00 pm, every Thursday!

Third Beat Improv is dedicated to celebrating the funny things that happen when people show humanity on stage.

At our performances, you might see Disney characters on break, our bloombars_improv_theater_third-beatversion of Nordstrom hell, or a father and son on a fishing trip.

Third Beat Improv’s commitment is to bring the sum total of our experiences to our presence on the stage. We want you to leave more inspired, to connect to more parts of yourself, and to an ever wider “audience” in your own life.

"Please Take A Number" Preview Party

NAACP AWARD WINNER’S PLEASE TAKE A NUMBER

PREVIEW PARTY ON THURSDAY, MARCH 5TH !

“This lady’s range knocked my socks off! I haven’t seen a one woman show like this since Carrie Fisher and Whoopi Goldberg. I can’t wait to see Nia again and again and again.” -Quincy Jones

Economic struggles meet comedy, the comedic self-help guru puts her audience on welfare and into “the system” as they wait for services. Ms. Orms seamlessly transforms into desperate and hilarious characters, captive in a New York City welfare office waiting for their number to be called. She hypnotizes the audience as each character reveals what they really hope to prove, which is that they are not just another number in the system. All who attend the show; privileged or in need, are encouraged to help by donating whatever they can. A portion of the proceeds from “Please Take a Number” go directly to Women for Women International, an organization with a track record of helping thousands of female survivors of war, www.WomenForWomen.org.
