Paul Drum’s Artwork on Display

Discover more of Paul Drum's beautiful work at the opening reception on September 1st

Dear Friends of BloomBars,

My name is Paul Drum, and I am excited to be the next artist to exhibit in The Gallery @ BloomBars. The opening reception for my show will be on Saturday, September 1st, from 6-8pm.

A little more about me: A resident of the world, I’ve lived in the United Kingdom, Jamaica, Italy, South East Asia, the Middle East, Western Europe, the Caribbean and throughout the U.S. I find my creativity is often sparked by my immediate surroundings and my inspiration to paint comes through constantly changing environments and absorbing the true essence of our coexistence with nature.

I attended Ontario College of Art and the Toronto School of Art where I worked toward my Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts. I went on to New York where I worked as a storyboard artist for various independent film companies.  While working as a pre-production artist, I assisted in the building of Sol LeWitt’s most recent Open Cubes sculpture.

I paint nature because I feel it’s the most precious part of our existence. All of my work is inspired by my relationship with the wilderness. I want to honor the creatures that suffer as a result of our existence by painting monuments to them so to speak. I want to show humanity and its foot print as being gentle and harmonious the way it should be.

Proceeds from exhibition will go towards the animal conservation and an artist work shop I plan to build in Tampa, Florida. Artisticly, I am exploring my self continuously and want to celebrate my many styles.  My most recent works have been done in acrylics due to the effect harmful spirits will have on the environment.  The brush strokes I  use are actually therapeutic to apply and require a great deal of patience. Let it speak for itself.

Best & Blooms,

Paul Drum
