Bachata Classes Now on Wednesday Evenings!

We are sorry, but bachata is currently on hiatus.

If we haven’t met – or more likely, danced with you yet, I teach BloomBars’ weekly Bachateame dance class, along with dance rock star William Sanchez.

Margaret and William in their element

Recently, my Wednesday nights have starting to feel a little more like my weekend. That’s because we’ve moved our signature Bachateame class from Saturday afternoons to Wednesday evenings at 8:45 pm. We invite you to join us as we continue to explore dance and music in context of community.

And that’s just what our class is: community. A dance jam with your neighbors. We teach traditional Dominican Bacahata (footwork and musicality) but add a flare of Cuban Salsa styling. We encourage students to find their own Bachata groove, which makes the class an opportunity to express yourself as much as it is an opportunity to learn.

As a full believer in the physical, emotional and spiritual rehabilitative power of movement, I was thrilled to become part of an organization that champions social awareness through the arts. For over a year and a half, we’ve been jamming out to Bachata every week at BloomBars.

Although our class is just a small part of the BloomBars organism, I’m humbled to be able call BloomBars my creative home and excited to be part of such a dynamic and talented family.

Be a part of the movement and join us in our weekly Bachateame dance jam. Classes are held every Wednesday from 8:45 pm – 10:00 pm. Come alone or bring a friend. We hope to see you there!
